For Egg Donors

egg donor donation

What is Egg Donation? Egg donors (also known as ovum donors) donate their biological material to create embryos and allow another woman to carry that child, whether it be an intended mother or surrogate. Egg donors must have good medical history, and no major disease or genetic abnormalities in their immediate family.

Egg donors will be required to take stimulation medication to have the ovaries ready multiple eggs, which will then be removed during an egg retrieval procedure. The procedure is outpatient and you will go home same day, soon after the retrieval is completed. Egg donation will never cost you anything - everything is covered, such as your travel, legal fees, insurance, screening fees etc. Egg donation is usually anonymous, too; intended parents will only see your photos and pertinent information such as your medical history, and most of the time won't even know your first name.

How Much do Egg Donors Get Paid? Egg donors receive anywhere from $9,000 for their first cycle, and after each successful cycle compensation increases by on average $5,000 per time depending on number of eggs retrieved. Donors with in-demand backgrounds such as Asian, Middle-Eastern and Jewish, can expect to be paid higher due to high demand and limited numbers of available donors. Donors with Ivy League education or multiple proven births resulting from their donations can also expect to earn more.
